According to the third-quarter financial report of NXP for 2025, the performance of its automotive business does not match the description of "a 24% year-on-year increase in automotive chip revenue".

The financial report shows that NXP's total revenue in the third quarter was 3.173 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 2% and a month-on-month increase of 8%. Among this, the core automotive business revenue reached 1.837 billion US dollars, accounting for nearly 60% of the total revenue, with a month-on-month growth of 6% and a year-on-year level of stability.

Kurt Sievers, the CEO of NXP Semiconductors, stated after releasing the 2024 Q3 quarterly financial report that market demand is divided into two categories: chips needed for consumer products and automotive chips. The demand from consumer electronics such as game consoles and personal computers is decreasing, but the demand for automotive and industrial chips remains "resilient".

Nevertheless, we believe that this study provides valuable reference for understanding the true situation of the current automotive chip market. In an era of information explosion, maintaining rational analysis and distinguishing the authenticity of information is the prerequisite for making correct decisions. The automotive chip industry is currently in a critical period of technological transformation and market adjustment. Only by accurately grasping the industry pulse can one seize the opportunities in the transformation and secure the future.
